Technology Consultant
I specialize in synergizing all business operations with information technology solutions. These solutions address the problems experienced by each client while preventing further issues from arising in future. A strong focus is placed on meeting the project budget of each client. Each solution must fit the client rather than being dictated by proprietary software and hardware relationships that have been utilized in the past. Solutions provided over the last year include: e-Commerce, web-site creation, application service provider creation, network topology, operating system overhauls, digital video streaming, digital document archiving, digital image manipulation.

Digital Media Incorporated, 1995--2001
Co-Founder, CTO
I co-founded a computer-based training company in 1995. The award-winning training I developed was targeted to the printing and publishing industry. I created production templates for training delivered on CD-ROM, and I designed and managed the production process itself. By creating a production process which utilized templates and streamlined production techniques, Digital Media was able to produce CD-based training for one-third of the industry standard costs. By late 1999, this process also allowed Digital Media to transition from CD-based training to Internet-based training. By modifying existing technology, as well as developing new techniques, I created Internet-based training from the existing CD-based content. This new format used interactive video and sound to create a media-rich learning experience, all at speeds accessible by modem users. In addition to production of the technical content, I was also highly involved with all aspects of writing the training. I wrote many of the courses and directed other authors. I developed production and authoring guides to streamline the creation of course content and training.

In addition to product development, I was responsible for maintaining the technical infrastructure and network, which included Macintosh and Windows workstations as well as Windows NT servers. The Windows NT servers handled email services, web media content delivery, web page hosting, internal networking and internal file systems. In addition, I was the primary contact for all technical support.

Beyond my technical roles, I was involved, as partner, with strategic planning and process management for the company as a whole. Although my primary responsibilities were in product development, I also performed marketing, operations, and administrative roles.

Graphic Impressions, 1994--1995
Pre-press Engineer
Graphic Impressions was a commercial printing company. Responsibilities included film output of digital files, image manipulation, page layout, document troubleshooting, and customer support. I was the technical resource for clients that were creating images and documents for output to high-end offset printers. This position required an intimate understanding of how both computers and printing presses handle imaging.
